My name is Andre Louis. I am a French and American retired Social Worker. I am married to Susan for over 47 years. We had 3 children and several grand children. I have been an avid bicycle rider for many years. (longer than most people around me). When my youngest daughter Michele survived Leukemia, I celebrated her 5 th year cancer free by doing a 3200 miles, coast to coast, ride from San Francisco to NYC. The ride raised money for a charitable cause and turned into an amazing adventure for all of us. Last year Michele passed away and I started this blog to illustrate my preparation to a new journey: A bike ride called “Wheels of Love” that I did with my friend Jimmy Focazio. WOL is an annual fundraising event benefitting ALYN Children Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel. This bicycle ride was a 500 Km challenge last October over a 5 day period. We had an amazing time doing it and we were proud to have raised close to 15000 dollars with the generous help of our family and friends
Now a new adventure has started. The Louis family and our friends have joined forces to create a Perpetual Endowment Fund that will finance, year after year, sending a child whose life has been touched by cancer to the YMCA Frost Valley camp.
